 PERPETUAL PROFESSION
12th Mar, 16

It’s been a great joy for the Montfortian family as two of our brothers who came forward to make their Perpetual Profession. Brother Robert and Brother Prashanth joined Montfortian family in the year 2003 in Guru Mandir (Mysore). Having completed their priestly studies in various stages of their formation, in the year 2015 they prepared themselves along with the two brothers who came from Malawi for the Preparation for the Final Profession to India. All these four brothers attended the session on Montfortian Spirituality for about two months in Maria Bhavan (Bangaluru) after that they all attended one month of Retreat in Montfort Farm (Mysore) in the month of October 2015. Having attended the Montfortian retreat, our two Brothers prepared themselves spiritually to make their Final Commitment in the company of Mary and Montfort. TD, no. 121 says “By the Montfortian Consecration we give ourselves explicitly and entirely to Jesus Christ through the hands of Mary.”

On 8th of December 2015 on the feast day of Immaculate Conception and the Inauguration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, our Brothers Robert and Prashanth made their Final Commitment to the Lord in Maria Bhavan, “It’s not I who live but Christ who lives in me (Gal 2:19). The Eucharistic Celebration was solemnised by Rev Fr Raja Rao (Provincial Superior) along with his Councillors. For this Final Profession there were many priests, nuns and faithful who had witnessed this great event, the Parents of these two brothers and their relatives were immensely happy to grace this occasion. “The religious voluntarily consecrate themselves by the public vows of chastity, poverty and obedience and live in a community. They manifest in the Church the marvellous marriage established by God as a sign of the world to come,” (Can, no. 607/1). And on 14th of the same month these two brothers were ordained as Deacons by the Arch Bishop of Bangaluru Most Rev Dr. Bernard Mores in Maria Bhavan.

The Final Profession of our brothers is a sign of the Kingdom of God, sign of faith and hope. While we thank and praise the Lord, we pray that they may experience the peace and joy of the Lord and become a blessing to the Montfortian family both National and International level. We offer our hearty congratulations and prayerful wishes for their future Ministry.
